D is for Deliverance

And there was delivered unto him the book of the prophet Esaias. And when he had opened the book, he found the place where it was written,

The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,

To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.

Luke 4 v 17-19

Taking a lesson from this passage of the scripture this was a time when Jesus found himself in the scrolls.As Christians one must find yourself in the bible or at least relate and mirror someone in the bible.The journey of discovery and much more important unlocking what God has for you and the path he would have you walk according to his will.

But let me stay on topic,notice how when deliverance is mentioned something opposite is also mentioned liberty.
As there are opposing forces pulling at each other all times good v evil,light v darkness,hot v cold etc etc etc.

The point here is that Jesus our lord and personal savior’s mandate (among others of course) was to bring peace through his preaching.

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Phil 4 v 6-7

The times I have seen deliverance mentioned its from a form of a bondage as discussed in the previously in B FOR bondage.

Here is what we need to understand ;

Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree”[h]), that the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.

Gal 3 v 13-14

The finished works of Jesus rescued us from all bad things that we will ever need rescued from.That then means healing wasnot invented the day you got you got sick but rather 2000 years ago when Christ died on the cross.The lack of peace of mind,the poverty from wealth,whatever lack of anything……. which is consistent with a Godly way of living…, is not of God,ie if you are lacking anything that God promised you to have and, or, are having to live with things and hindrances,obstacles if you will, that limit you from being all you can be in your life then you are living in bondage underneath your privilege.

And Christ came for this very purpose your deliverance.
Picture the cross and what it symbolizes,every place Jesus suffered served a reason;
Head;crown of thorns was to lift the curse of sin
Chest;the piercing was to protect you emotions
Hands;redemption from the tilling and toiling of the ground the curse Adam brought
Feet;for you to tread and trample and put all evil things under your feet (dominion)

And if that dont convince you look in the old,the covenant(blood promise agreement between two parties broken only by death)

And Abraham lifted up his eyes, and looked, and behold behind a ram caught in a thicket by his horns: and Abraham went and took the ram, and offered him up for a burnt offering in the stead of his son. But Moses’ hands were heavy; and they took a stone, and put it under him, and he sat thereon; and Aaron and Hur stayed up his hands, the one on the one side, and the other on the other side; and his hands were steady until the going down of the sun.
